FJL Give-Back Journey

This program, run in partnership with Birthright Israel, is a hands-on initiative designed to strengthen communities across Israel. By combining impactful volunteer work, meaningful educational experiences, and immersive travel throughout the country, the trip deepens participants’ connection to Israel while fostering a strong sense of Jewish identity, resilience, and long-term engagement. It also empowers participants to develop leadership skills and take responsibility for their communities, their Jewish identity, and the future of Israel.

All participants are required to pay a $275 registration fee (includes a $25 non-refundable handling/registration fee) through the Birthright portal.

Refunds are available up until 65 days before the start of the programme if you decide not to join.

We have put together a rough itinerary which may be subject to change:

Participants are responsible for booking and covering the cost of their own flights. No flight subsidies are available.

Tel Aviv, but we will be moving around during the trip

On volunteer days pack-your-own-lunches will be provided as well as dinner before programming. You will be responsible for your own food outside when you are on your own and should come to Israel ready to spend some of your own money and support the local economy :).

Any time that we are leaving the city (Tel Aviv) as a group, for volunteering or other activities, FJL will provide busing. If the Volunteering or Activity is within Tel Aviv, you will be responsible to make your own way there.

Yes certainly! However, we will limit the number of non-alumni – first come first serve.

FJL will organize your travel insurance for you and be in touch about the specifics once you join the trip.

FJL is designed to be a full and immersive experience, with a strong focus on education, leadership development, volunteering, and meaningful learning opportunities. The program is intentionally packed to ensure participants gain as much as possible from their time in Israel.

While there will not be a large amount of free time during the program itself, there will likely be one or two afternoons/evenings available for participants to explore and enjoy Israel independently.

As many participants want additional time to travel, see friends and family, or experience the country at their own pace, we strongly encourage anyone interested to consider extending their stay before or after the program.
